Worshipping at St James the Less

We welcome all baptised people to receive communion with us.

In-church services are not taking place until further notice. However, worship services  are accessible using internet  – contact the Rector using the information in the sidebar to find out how to join in with these. In ‘normal’ times communion is available at 10.30am usually on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of each month. During term time we offer activities for Young Church, suitable for their age; on 2nd Sundays, however, Young Church joins us for the whole service, which they help to lead. We have a mix of music styles including organ, piano, band, choir and occasionally even a harp or some viols. The atmosphere is quite relaxed.

The precise pattern of our weekly services changes sometimes depending on the availability of clergy.  Please check on the notice board in church or on the church website (in the right hand panel).

There will be no midweek service or healing service (see below) until further notice.

Morning Prayer and Holy Communion by Reserved Sacrament

In ‘normal’ times, once or twice each month a service of Morning Prayer and Holy Communion by Reserved Sacrament is led by our team of commissioned Lay Worship Leaders. These are not taking place at the moment.

Healing Services

On the 1st Wednesday of each month at 7pm, a simple Healing Service of is held in our Peace chapel, with time for prayer, lighting candles and anointing.
